If the font function is set to ACCENT, accent characters are placed above or below preceding characters in a string, unless the accent is the first character in the string. Accent characters display on screen as an asterisk (*) after the previous character, but are replaced and repositioned when printed with Bentley Advanced Map Finishing. If an accent character is required alone, it must be placed after a space character.

If two accented characters are placed directly after a regular character, both are placed under or over the regular character. If A\154 is entered as MicroStation text, it displays as A* but prints as Å.
